I like your photos. IMHO, you have an eye. But you're an artist and designer so it's no surprise. The only other thing with photography is that aside from the creativity you already have (which a lot of people don't), it's part technique (simply a lot of reading and experimentation really). The technical side of things will enable you to implement your vision and it can be fun. ;) OTOH, you're in better shape compared to a lot of people with fancy SLR systems...
